We believe the Bible to be God’s Word, His authoritative revelation to man. We believe in having no fellowship with the “unfruitful works of darkness” and in separating from those church groups who reject the plain truths of the Bible. This is often called a belief in personal holy living and ecclesiastical separation. We believe believer’s immersion, church membership only for the saved, the privilege and responsibility of the individual to go directly to God in worship, congregational government, and the separation of church and state.
Independent Baptist
We are independent of worldly or denominational control, but dependent on the Lord as our guide and the Bible as our authority for practice.
Evangelistic
We believe in proclaiming the forgiveness of sins and eternal life only through faith in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.
Mission Minded
We take seriously Christ’s command to “go into all the world and preach the gospel.”
Biblical
The practice of Biblical principles is the key to individual transformation in living and the development of a life that pleases God. Consequently, the systematic teaching of the Bible is central to all of our ministries.
Traditional Music
Our music does not mimic the sound of the world. While our music is heart-warming, it is distinctively godly in its style.
Family Oriented
Family Oriented. Our ministry is designed to develop and encourage families by teaching God’s role for each member of the home.

Pastor Dave Anderson – Senior Pastor
Pastor Dave & Abi Anderson
A biographical sketch for the believer is really a recounting of some of the wonderful acts of God’s grace for that individual. God is tailoring a unique storyline for each of His obedient children as He weaves them into the image of His dear Son.
Dave was born into a godly home and had a front row seat to watch the Lord grow and develop his folks into a mature pastor and wife. Through the Lord’s work and his parent’s influence, he came to faith in Christ at the age of six and was baptized by immersion three years later. It was during his junior high years, under the preaching ministry of his father, that the Lord began to tug at his heart to be a preacher. He was married to Debbie Wagner after completing his bachelor’s degree at Maranatha Baptist University, eventually moving to Pennsylvania to finish his Master of Divinity degree at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in 1991.
During his first staff position as youth and music pastor, serving at Faith Baptist Church of Lebanon, PA, the Lord rounded out their family with two sons and two daughters. In 1997, the Lord graciously directed their family to serve under Dr. David Cummins and then Dr. Marty Marriott at Faith Baptist Church in Warren, MI. These were years filled with wonderful mentoring, continued education, and growing ministry opportunities. It was also during these years in 2009 that the Lord, in His grace, called his wife, Debbie, home to be with Him through cancer.
Life with the Lord is an adventure; our Loving Father teaching us to anticipate our ultimate rejoicing in heaven while enjoying the excitement that His morning-mercies bring us each day. 2011 was a year of sweet transition for Dave’s family as God graciously provided Abi Potter as a wife and mother for them. Abi is the daughter of retired Baptist World Missions missionaries, Dr. David and Jean Potter in Pecs, Hungary. God also transitioned them into the role of senior pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Roscoe, IL. They rejoice in the loving flock that the Lord has called them to shepherd and are thrilled to see the Lord building His church in Roscoe.
The Anderson’s three oldest children are married, and Dave and Abi rejoice in the opportunities the Lord is affording their children in ministry. They also have a daughter who is a missionary in Wales, and they enjoy being grandparents to four wonderful grandkids! The Lord has given them two children to enjoy, train, and keep their home filled with laughter.
Dave has the privilege of serving on the boards of Maranatha Baptist University, Baptist World Missions, and Camp Joy, as well as being actively involved in the fellowship and church-planting efforts of the Association of Independent Baptist Churches of Illinois, currently serving as the President of the Board. Dave has been honored with a Doctor of Divinity from Maranatha Baptist University and has also earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Maranatha.
Caleb and his sweet wife Elise have the joy of leading our teen ministry, our music ministry, and serving in numerous other ways at Heritage.
Caleb grew up in a godly home, the second of nine children, and accepted Christ as his Savior as a boy. He holds a B.A. in Missions and a M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Maranatha Baptist University. He is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from Central Baptist Seminary. Elise, who grew up in rural Washington State, the seventh of eight children, was nurtured in a godly home and saved as a teenager. She holds her bachelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling from Maranatha Baptist University . Together they have a sweet daughter, Caroline Rose.
Pastor Rod and Doris have been a delightful gift to our church family. Having grown up farming, and becoming a successful business man, the Lord allowed Pastor Rod to serve as a senior pastor, including church planting, for over forty years. Upon retiring from fulltime ministry and moving closer to his son’s family (our pastor), they joined our church family and quickly endeared themselves to us. Pastor Rod officially became the Visitation Pastor in December of 2017.
Pastor Rod received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Maranatha Baptist University and faithfully served the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches as a board member and treasurer for many years. Rod and Doris enjoy every opportunity to love on their family which includes two children and their spouses, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
